Introduction
Every time someone post a question or answer in Yammer or someone new joins, you get a notification or an alert appearing bottom right in your screen. How can you disable this?
If you can't find the answer in any of the materials or articles yet, in this post, I will share the steps on how to disable Yammer Notifications or Alerts for your desktop.
Cause
The cause of these notification is an application called as Yammer Desktop Notifier application which is installed in your system.
How to stop these notifications?
There are 2 ways:
1. Uninstall this application - By going to Control Panel -> Program and Feature -> Search for Yammer Desktop Notifier application and click on Uninstall
2. Without Uninstalling this application - By following below steps which doesn't require you to uninstall this application:
Below steps will be used to disable Yammer notification alerts for the Yammer Desktop Notifier application:
- Click on “Arrow” icon on bottom right corner of your screen and then click on “Yammer” icon (as shown below)
- Click on "Settings" (as shown below)
- Uncheck all checked/selected check-boxes and then save the changes (as shown below)
Once done, you will notice that now you are not seeing any of the notifications from Yammer coming in to your desktop.
Conclusion
So, in this post we learnt how to disable Yammer notifications for desktop by either uninstalling the Yammer Desktop Notifier application or by disabling the Yammer notification alerts from the settings of Yammer Desktop Notifier application.
